Welcome to
THE BASEMENT COLLECTION
A FINE SELECTION OF AUTOMOBILES
The Basement Collection, a fine selection of special cars, was officially founded in 2012.
Long before the current keeper Herman was into Classic Cars his father Rogeer, a car dealer in the seventies, was collecting what is now known as Classic Cars but back then called scrap. Few people understood the historic value of Classic Cars those days. Over the years Rogeer collected marks as, Vandenplas, Triumph, Facel Vega, Lancia Flaminia,… Rogeer past the love of cars to his son Herman. Herman’s first car was a Wolseley 16/60 four doors. One car after the other Rogeer sold his collection and apart from a TR6 and a GT6 little was left.
In 2012 Ann and Herman found a Railton University Saloon 1935 for sale. A car Herman was tracking for some time now. At a small café in a small city Scherpenheuvel in Belgium the two decided to buy that one car. And so they did. Up until now the two are chasing Classic Cars let’s say on a weekly basis. Herman is scanning the net and Ann is buried in books and other stuff to find out the history of the cars. Recently Jeroen joint the two and is taking care of the technical side of the story.
Together they have found themselves a network of people sharing the same automotive passion. This way they can keep their and the collection of others alive and drivable.
Ann, Jeroen and Herman hope you will enjoy a visit at the website and by all means give them a call and visit the collection yourself.
